also, I was reading in ezekiel and in chapter 16 it talks about when
you think your sins are bad but not quite as bad as another persons...
so it makes you seem righteous but measured by GOD's standards, you really aren't...
and I have thought a lot about that.
raising teenagers we hear that...
compared to other parents who turn away and allow their kids to get away with smoking pot and drinking and get c average grades or worse , we're doing okay...
or are we?
if we aren't serving the LORD together, not feeding the hungry, not using our time as a family to pray together and exhort each other to glorify GOD, study the word, then are we really righteous or just appear to be righteous because our kids aren't smoking pot and get good grades?
how subtle the difference can be.
reality check!
I don't want my children to get to heaven and say to JESUS, well, I got a's and wasn't as bad as the other kids who were smoking pot...
no, I want them to get to heaven and have confidence when they meet their creator and have JESUS say to them, well done my good and faithful servant! I was with you when you were feeding the hungry and giving aid to the poor. I love you! I was with you when you repented. I forgave you, my child!
