be still

last night's outreach was amazing to me.
i'm taking some time to be still and remember GOD!
never do i want what happened last night to become "ordinary."
because when you're in this type of ministry
it is typical to see people come to the LORD and see
thousands of pounds of food arrive at our home
people knock on our door and ask if we have any food to share
or a bag of clothes and another bag of bread dropped off by
someone passing by or a grandmother offering clothes for us to
give away to another family in need...
i never want to get "tired of" or "take for granted"
seeing people willing to go out and be obedient to CHRIST
and serve HIM and be willing to put themselves into situations
that not very many will...
into poor neighborhoods, preaching to pedophiles or lifting
thousands of pounds of cabbages, oranges, potatoes...
setting aside bills, practice, homework, voicemails, emails...
the laundry, the dishes, the schedules, the requests from so many...
deadlines, worldly stuff that gets in the way of serving GOD by
feeding hungry children.
i'm tired, yep, of course...
but i'm certainly not tired of seeing how the body of CHRIST
can come together~
all unique, from different nations and different tongues~
with different abilities and gifts~
to be "fit-ly" joined together for one purpose~
to bring glory to GOD.
on this day, i rejoice in being a part of God's plan that
all should come to repentance and hungry children fed~
and love extended across the city...
despite discouragement and ideas from others who say it can't happen
or "shouldn't" or "not that way"... or "too dangerous" or "impossible"
GOD can do anything.
JESUS be lifted high!
be still...

Amen, Amen, and Amen!
I pray I never get to the point that our extra-ordinary God becomes ordinary to me.

Blessings from the East!
