N'orlens

Hi you all! I just got back from New Orleans, Louisianna with my two brothers Sam and Jordan. We stayed at Celebration Church/School there for a week, from October 8th through the 15th. A week working on a relief team in New Orleans felt like three weeks. I came back and didn't recognize Sonoma as we drove in at 2:00am or so. Working in Louisianna was the most rewarding work experience of my life and none of the three of us wanted to come back. I met beautiful people who were so kind to me even through all the hardship they endured day to day. We helped set up a distribution center that was like a free grocery store for the locals who needed donations. We worked all day in that store, restocking and transporting pallates from the warehouse tent to the store tent and listening to people's stories as they waited to check out or waited for a shopping cart so they could come in and shop, or while we helped them to their car. I heard stories of loss of possessions and of finding family and friends again. It's such a blessing the way devastation of this sort brings people together to help each other. I prayed with many people and families. The first day the store was open I was asking people if I could pray with them (and I wasn't turned down even once). By the second day people were asking me if I wanted to pray with them. I was nervous the first time but this wonderful lady Ethel who I'd helped to her car was so encouraging to me. We bowed our heads together and I was waiting for words to come to my heart and she said, go on, go on. It made me relax and laugh inside. After that, praying with people was just such a blessing I didn't have to be afraid anymore. I experienced a miracle all during that week because I had a fever over 101 all week and a deep cough. Under those circumstances at home, I would usually not be able to do my job. But God gave me the strength to do all the work required of me Saturday to Saturday. When we were leaving, God said to me, well done. Oh it was a beautiful experience and I could almost feel guilty that I gained more by being there than I gave, but I know I did the work God asked of me. The blessings are just so many. The people we worked with were amazing and I think about them every day. The body of Christ came together like I had not seen before. I pray that everyone who wants to go is able to experience the love that is so abundant in relief work. Thank you UGO4GOD and Raven for making this possible. Thank you Troy and Todd, Thomas and Lance, Keith and James... all you from Orange County and PRC, Texas and Michigan and Hope Chapel! Hallelujiah, PRaise the Lord! I'm filled with joy at the thought of any part of the experience. Any person, any task, any sunrise, any meal. Praise the Lord.

Abra.
