Courage
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart:
wait, I say, on the Lord. Psalm 27:14
The Bible admonishes us, "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you." Deut. 31:6
The context in which this verse is found is Moses' address to the people of Israel. It was Moses' birthday; he was 120 when he spoke these words. The patriarch knew that He would not cross over the Jordan River with his people, but He wanted to encourage them with the promises of God. He assured them that God would destroy their enemies. Then he turned to his faithful lieutenant Joshua and said, "Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them and you shall cause them to inherit it. And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed." Deut. 31:7-8
Moses was assuring Joshua and the Israelites that the Promised Land was their rightful inheritance. Nothing would keep them from entering in. It is the same message that God wants us to hear today. All His promises are for us.
Lord, I thank you for giving me courage. I will walk in the courage you provide to me throughout this day, realizing that you are with me and that you will never leave me. These realizations keep me from fear. I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me. Thank you for the fact that nothing shall ever separate me from your love, Father. Your perfect love casts out all fear in my life.
With your help, Father, I will never fear again, because I know you are with me. I will not be dismayed, because you are my God. You always give me strength. You always help me, and you always uphold me with the right hand of your righteousness. Thank you, Lord.
You have encouraged me through your Word, Father, and I know that no weapon that is formed against me shall ever prosper, and every tongue which rises against me in judgmente you shall condemn. Thank you for making this my heritage as your servant, and for giving me your righteousness which encourages me in every respect.
Thank you for the courage your Word imparts to me, Father.
And Everyone said, AMEN.

Thank you Jesus for once again your perfect timing. Everyone, please know my Jesus! Know the One who separates us from fear of sickness, hurricanes, disease. Know my Jesus who has never left me, is with me and will always be. I am facing tomorrow w/ no fear because of His grace that is so AMAZING. SO AMAZING. These devotionals were planned a week ago and once again as I typed them, I am so glad I don't believe in coincidence. God's got my back. He puts signs all around us. Have courage that comes from God today, whether you have a test to take at school, tests to get through at the doctor, meeting with your boss, a situation you need to ask forgiveness from your spouse or kids, a phone call to make or a bill to pay. Have courage if you need to repent your sins. Ask God into your heart, don't wait to burn out or fade away. He knows your list of things that you need...and your fears....and He knows the outcome. Rest in Him. Be of good courage, today. It feels a whole lot better than being in fear!
Love,
Lori
