Hey Everyone, I got a call from Rudy Gonzalez and the "Radical Rescue Vehicle" team at 5:48 this morning. Rudy said, "We have arrived 'on target.' We are all fine and we've seen Pastor Troy and he is good."
The RV (Rescue Vehicle) has arrived "on target" in Covington, Louisiana (just outside New Orleans) and is on site to be a blessing there. It will be used to distribute food, clothing and medical supplies, but will be a "home on wheels" for Pastor Troy and Melanie Bohn and their teenagers, Jered and Kayla. For awhile, they had been sleeping in their car, now on the floor of a Sunday School room. Now they will have real beds to sleep on, since they have lost their home and pretty much everything else.
I am so proud and thankful for Rudy, Brian, Jimmy and Gregory, the Radical Rescue Vehicle team that drove the RV over 2,000 miles to get it "on target" for Pastor Troy's family and the RAVEN Ministries team to use also as a Revival Vehivle. As I was praying for the team before I went to sleep last night, an old Christian battle cry popped into my head; "Onward Christian Soldiers, Marching as to War. With the Blood of Jesus, Going on before!"
These guys persevered like true Christian Soldiers to make this trip. They encountered miracles along the way... some big and some small. They had a flat tire and had to have a thermostat changed out, probably because of the heavy load of relief supplies they were carrying. Outside of Fort Stockton, Texas, they had their second flat tire. Since they couldn't find a tire place as it was late, they pulled into a budget motel to rest and wait until morning to get the tire fixed. A Texas HIghway Patrol pulled in behind them. The guys told him what they were doing, so he got on his radio and looked for a tire place. The patrolman knew of a young person whose elementary school had been collecting change to send to the hurricane victims. As they were getting the tire fixed, they showed up with $60. from the elementary school to help pay for the tire.
God is good and I'm sure we will hear more later. Keep them all in your prayers as now they begin ministering to the hurting just outside New Orleans. If you would like to make a donation to help, please do so at www.streetwiseministry.com
We love y'all and will write again soon.
