Rudy's saying (hangs in our kitchen): We don't have bad days, only good days and great days!"
And he said that today was a GREAT day. Brian, Jimmy, Gregory, Pastor Troy and him, on a mission, handing out food, clothes and essentials all day...and most of all, getting the opportunity to minister to neighborhoods. They were in a town that hasn't been declared an emergency zone but he said it was the poorest town ever and they could have been there handing out the same things to them a week before the hurricane...and they would have been in desperate need then. He said that he can't fathom why it hasn't been declared an emergency zone because all of the shacks they live in are ruined. So, they definitely did a long day of work but a GREAT day of work! He is soooo happy to hear of the teams willing to GO4GOD. Please join me in prayer tomorrow night~ Come one, come all, 7-8:30.
Thank you tonight for: Tracy and Seraphina (3rd, maybe 4th trip?!), 30 families who showed up willing to help with hurricane relief efforts (!); Donna Mc Morrow, Georgia Simpson-Maher's donatons, Dierdra from Nailz & Co., Cindy Ioli and Lisa Broyles for showing up unannounced with DINNER! (The best enchiladas ever!) Also, thank you to Shawna, Heather, Deb and Melanie for encouragement via telephone, for affirmation and scriptures... we can always use that!
Crosscheck, I took Rudy's jeep today and noticed a paper with names on it and a whole lot of GREAT things that will be loaded onto a truck Wednesday and in Louisiana neighborhoods by Friday: Gale Pena and Ray Stawiarski, staff and friends. Your support for Rudy and our family is such a blessing. Without Chris & Shawna and the rest of the Crosscheck team behind Rudy, it would mean that all those kids he helped today wouldn't have gotten fed by him, and what a blessing it is to Rudy that he had the opportunity to be there. THANK YOU for your ongoing support and prayers!
So many to thank, so many yet to meet. Father God, in heaven, I lift up all these families from today. For those who came to listen, to learn, to do what they can for you. I thank you God that you are stirring these people into action for you and your Glory. That you are speaking and they are listening. Lord, I ask for a hedge of protection around these families, that they will surround themselves with people who can uplift them in prayer, encourage them and affirm your calling. Please God, give them the provisions, the gas, the trailers, the trucks and the rest so that they can get what is needed to those families who have NOTHING. Let them go with the gospel, Lord! Let those around them see what Christ in action is, that it's not about them, us, provisions...it's about bringing people to know you as a merciful, loving God! I pray this in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, AMEN.
See y'all tomorrow
