1 peter 1:14-15

Now that you are obedient children of God do not live as you did in the past.
You did not understand, so you did the evil things you wanted. But be holy in all
you do, just as God, the One who called you, is holy.

phew.
That can mean a lot on so many different levels.
Be holy.
Talk about a command from God!
Now that takes a moment by moment choice.
Be holy.
I had blogged last week about my taking my focus off of JESUS
and have had to repent AGAIN.
That "things" and "stuff to do" and blah blah blah
got in the way of me seeking the LORD first.
ICK.
When peter walked on water he sank... when?
When he took his focus off of JESUS.
Instantly he sank.
Can we be holy without the LORD's help?
Can we even truly be holy?
The bible says, "be holy."
Now I'm not here to argue if we can be, but we must try to be.
The LORD expects it.
He says be holy.
Saying that we will fall short isn't an excuse not to try.
What does that mean?
Be pure.
Don't waver from truth, goodness, righteousness.
With the power of the Holy Spirit make those decisions
that may seem wrong to the world but right to God.
Again:
Now that you are obedient children of God
do not live as you did in the past.
You did not understand, so you did the evil things
you wanted. But be holy in all you do,
just as God, the One who called you, is holy.

AMEN.
