Last night on the way to SF we had just gotten on the Hwy 12 overpass near the fairgrounds when Rudy received a phone call~ he then pointed to the exit and Mark took it and made a UTURN without hesitating, not knowing why, just following Rudy's gesture to turn around. Rudy then said, "It's Rich, and Karen just got in an accident on Farmer's Lane." I started praying and we were there within a minute (thanks Mark). When we arrived we saw several cars crashed into each other, cops, a fire engine and an ambulance but not Karen. There were 2 young teens crying and Rudy took his bible out and started looking for Karen. My eyes met his and he went to the ambulance where she was. She was okay! She was stopped at the light on her way to the church and the teens smashed into her bmw w/ their jetta which caused Karen's car to crash into the mercedes infront of her and that car bumped the suv before her. Gina and I went to the ambulance not knowing what condition Karen was in but so happy to see her beautiful face and sweet smile! She asked how we knew she was there and we told her Rich called. She then asked if he was on his way and we assured her he was. She wanted to make sure that someone would go to the church for Josiah. Rudy and Mark went to attend the cops and we stayed with Karen, walked over to the teens who were sobbing and asked if they were okay. One of them embraced Karen with "I AM SO SORRY!" And Karen, of course said, "It's okay, I am all right." Here, Karen who had just totaled her car was comforting the one who crashed into her. I asked her if there was anything in her car that she wanted out of it and she said, "Jimmy's cd!" And then she said, "And a doll in the trunk for Mexico and some clothes for Papago Ct." Hmmm.... that's what she was thinking about~ comforting the one who just crashed into her, wanting to hear her son's voice and then of course, the gifts for children she doesn't even know. There wasn't a moment of anger in her, a moment of anxiety~ she displayed to me and others that peace that only JESUS brings. The Bennett's drove by and saw the accident and pulled into the parking lot. Brian went to our home and got our van. It was all perfect timing. Once Rich arrived and saw the destroyed cars he said, "HALLELUJAH!" He didn't point fingers at the young teens, get mad at the situation, no. Instead, he gave honor and praise to JESUS. He embraced his wife, got her into the truck and drove to hear their son sing in church and hear the gospel. As I sat next to them, I couldn't help but be moved to tears to Praise the Lord that not only was Karen's body okay, but that I was able to witness her grace under pressure. Please pray with me: Dear Jesus, I love you. I thank you that last night's accident was what it was~ and it wasn't any worse than it could have been. I thank you Lord that you are who Rich and Karen claim you are~ the Prince of Peace! I thank you that we were near and that Rich thought quickly to call us. I pray that these next days and weeks that there will not be a lot of hindrances in getting the claims resolved for the car~ that we can look back at this night as one of a miracle. Had Karen been in any other car~ father God, thank you for her bmw! Bless the Donaghy's and thank you for their marriage. We thank you and Praise YOU Jesus that Karen was able to hear her son's voice last night in church and although it surely shook us up, we praise YOU for what was and not for what it could have been. We love you Lord! We rejoice in your name! AMEN.
